This week! We continue our Series on the Book of Ephesians "Your Church is Too Small". Chapter 3...they didn't see it coming. A new way of doing things. A new system. A new currency. Exploding heads. Ephesians.
Bulk of the Series right here. Ephesians 2.11-22. This is what we're talking about when we say "Your Church is Too Small." This week we're going to confront our propensity for tribalism. Us v. Them. We're good because this, they're bad because of this. Jesus has destroyed the dividing wall of hostility. What does this mean for us today?
This week! We continue our Series on the Book of Ephesians and talk about life. Or life after death. Like zombies. This week, we talk about zombies. And what it means to be "alive in Christ". Freedom from boasting. Freedom from competition. Freedom from hatred. Freedom to live.
This week! We continue our Series in the book of Ephesians - Your Church is Too Small. Guest speaker Aimee Pahl finishes up chapter 1 with a little of God's glory, Jesus' placement at the right hand of the Father, the general badassery of Jesus in Heaven...all that.
Love that we get to study the Book of Ephesians together. This week, we look at "the plan". What does it mean to have free will, if God has a plan? Are we really free? Is this the Matrix? Who's behind the curtain? We're going to allow Bertrand Russell, Sophocles, and the Apostle Paul speak into this challenge for us this week. Can't wait!
This week we kick off our New Series! Together, we'll be spending the Fall going through the Book of Ephesians. We're calling it "Your Church is Too Small". I can't wait for us to dive into this book that is about, among many things, what "the Church" is. Or, maybe more importantly, WHO the Church is. Looking forward to what we discover together.
We kick off the month with a look at something that seems...outdated. Ya, I know. But we are going to look at the tabernacle of Moses. The Old Testament tabernacle seems pretty remote to our 21st century context. This Sunday we'll look at how it could become a key to a deeper experience of Jesus.
In a world that moves faster and faster, everything seems outdated. How do we keep from apathy and exhaustion, and truly find 'life'?
Man...we all like to be right. Right? This week, we confront this notion with...the Gospel. What does it look like to live a life outside of having to "be right"? How do we open ourselves up to this kind of humility?
As we continue our series on Outdated, we take a look at a plague in our society. An epidemic in our culture. A...giant pimple on the face of America? I don't know. Here's what it is: Entitlement. Not one thing can and will corrupt your capacity for joy, life and engagement with the Kingdom all around us like entitlement. This week, we confront it and see what we can do to reverse the process, and find joy in the present.
